He was one of the greatest rulers in Europe and, in his time, governed a large part of the continent, including present-day Czechia, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Slovenia, as well as large parts of Italy and France, and smaller parts of Poland and Denmark. He was King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor.
